Every October since 2012, FPSG has hosted our Breast Cancer Awareness Day as part of an overall international event. The goal is to raise the level of knowledge and awareness around breast reconstruction options, as many women may be overwhelmed by or unaware of what’s available to them. Knowing that you have options and aren’t alone is critical. If you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer and are considering reconstruction, we’re here to help you understand and plan the best reconstructive journey for you.
Known as The BRA Day Event, Florida Plastic Surgery Group uses the event to reach Jacksonville patients and caregivers. Because it can be difficult for patients to envision reconstruction results with a 2D photo, this event allows them to learn about their options through interacting with our physicians and our past breast reconstruction patients in a private setting to see in real life what a reconstructed breast looks like. During this event patients can also interact with actual patients to discuss their reconstructive journey and add hope/support through their reconstructive journey to wholeness.
