How is facial fat transfer performed?

The first step of a facial fat transfer procedure is liposuction. This process involves carefully harvesting fat from a donor area on the patient’s body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, or buttocks. The fat is then delicately processed to remove everything except your own body’s fat cells.

Afterward, the concentrated fat is injected with small needles, eliminating the need for any incision. Some overcorrection may be required, as not all fat injected will survive. In addition, a second or third stage of fat grafting may be required.
